Video Sites Status

When playing a video on one of these sites, everything on the page will be removed except for the video. The browser can either be minimized to fit the video size or maximized with the video centered on the page. The user can select a custom background color or use the default color from the original page. Options to keep the comments and/or related videos are also being worked on (working for YouTube and MySpace, more sites later). The video can now be scaled on certain sites.

More sites will be added regularly and you can also request a site to be added.

NEW!! Try VideoKiosk, facebook application to display videos on your profile from a bunch of different sites! Takes minimal profile space!

Hulu is working on my end, although I'm in Canada so the videos aren't playing ("We're sorry, ...") but everything is removed except for the video and some borders.

Anyone else can confirm/deny?

Georgie, I'm afraid the 'Maximize Video' function would take a lot of time to implement at this point. I'm gonna keep thinking about it but you'll have to do without it for now, sorry.

Like you scale every other scalable sites, right click the monkey in the lower right corner of firefox, expand "User Script Commands.." and select "VF->Set Video Scale". Then you can set the percentage of the original size that you want, personally I use 150% (don't enter the % sign).

How do you scale daily motion video?

YouTube has a full screen option if thats what you mean. I just want the video to fill the page (not screen).

I'm not gonna remove the scale function because it's useful for older PCs. But 'maximize video' could be added to the list of options already available, I'll try to add it in the next update. And isn't a maximize function already available in the flash player on the site you're visiting?

Feature request: option to maximize video size instead of using a specific scale

Yes, but the bad news is I can't remove the borders and there are like 4 or 5 of them which makes it distracting. I'm goint to update the script this week with the hulu fix and some others, please be patient.

CTRL-T still works fine for me on YouTube, tested a couple of videos and it's always working.

When viewing a video on YouTube, the Ctrl+T (new tab) shortcut doesnt seem to work. What does this script do to cause that?

everything is removed by default, but you can toggle the related videos, or comments back on by using the Greasmonkey Menu (right click the monkey icon in your browser's lower right corner).

Do you mean Hulu ? Cuz I don't know any sites named Hula..
Hulu.com is broken, it's written on the Status page, so you'll have to wait till the next update IF it can be fixed.

Hula is not blocking any ads.

Someone contacted me about the script being incompatible with AdBlock Plus (I can't remember on which site I got this message..). Well I'm happy to say that Firefox 3 and AdBlock Plus works just fine with VideoFocus. :-) Carry on.

I'm afraid it would take major modifications to the script to make it work on Opera. Sorry, not gonna happen.

Would it be possible to make this script compatible with Opera? Thanks

Thanks Bouphecr,

to toggle the comments, right click the monkey in your browser lower right corner, select "User Script Commands..." and then "VF->Toggle Comments On/Off"
(but it only works on youtube and maybe myspace at the moment). I am aware that hulu is not working, sorry but it's broken right now and will have to wait for version 1.1.4, if it's even possible to fix it.
